MIDLAND, TEXAS – U.S. Senate Candidate Roland Gutierrez will be in Midland next Tuesday. Gutierrez, the State Senator who represents Uvalde, has been a leading voice on gun violence prevention. After the Uvalde massacre, Senator Gutierrez fought alongside the victims and families to uncover the failures of the Texas Department of Public Safety response to the shooting at Robb Elementary.

Gutierrez announced his run against Ted Cruz, one of the GOP’s most unpopular and vulnerable senators in July. Cruz narrowly escaped defeat in his last general election, delivering the worst Republican general election performance since 1996. A UT Austin poll shows Cruz has a meager 34% favorability rating with Independent voters.
