Gutierrez oversees over 300 miles of Texas-Mexico border

TEXAS – Today Texas Senator Roland Gutierrez, candidate for the U.S. Senate, issued a statement on the latest Operation Lone Star whistleblower report, in which former service member and government security contractor David Dillard recalls the cruel treatment of migrants on buses headed out of Texas.
“Operation Lone Star has never been about fixing a broken immigration system. It is not about jobs, security, or doing right for Texas. Ted Cruz’ and Greg Abbott’s sham operation is only about cruelty towards immigrants. They don’t care about what happens to these people, and they don’t care how much of your taxpayer dollars are wasted on idiotic stunts,” said Senator Roland Gutierrez.
Over 50,000 asylum seekers have been bused from Texas to Democratic-led cities since April 2022 as part of Operation Lone Star. Indignities suffered by immigrants include overflowing bus bathrooms, seven to 12 hours without being able to leave the bus, and one instance where migrants were made to wait overnight so that immigrants could be dropped off at Vice President Harris’ house as part of a political stunt.
“Abbott coordinated the whole thing just to say F-you to the VP. That’s petty politics of people’s lives. It’s inhuman, man,” Dillard said.
