Texas’ Failed Border Enforcement Causes Chaos and Death

HOUSTON, TEXAS – Today, U.S. Senate Candidate Roland Gutierrez released a statement in response to the death of a three-year-old child from Venezuela that occurred on a state-sponsored bus from Texas to Chicago.
“The cruelty at the border ordered by Greg Abbott and endorsed by Ted Cruz must end. Parents make the long journey of over 2,000 miles through jungles, rivers with buzzsaws on buoys, and cartels just to beg for asylum and to have a chance at survival. People are desperate to reach our beautiful country, only to lose their child due to the cruelty of the Governor of Texas. This system is entirely broken. These barbaric practices must end,” said Senator Roland Gutierrez.
