Narrow Decision Dictates Texas Stop Obstructing Border Patrol

TEXAS – The Supreme Court of the United States ruled in a 5-4 decision that Texas overstepped its boundaries in preventing federal Border Patrol agents from performing their duties at the Texas-Mexico border.
Border State Senator and candidate for the U.S. Senate Roland Gutierrez issued a statement:
“Razor wire, lethal buoys, and the Trump wall have never been serious solutions for a broken immigration system. That scam has gone on for far too long. Greg Abbott has put on quite the show, but the reality is that people are dying in the river, South Texas residents are being killed in DPS’ high speed chases, and Congress continues to fail.
“We need to get serious about fixing our broken immigration system and that starts with getting rid of extremist politicians like Ted Cruz. We need lawmakers who are serious about restoring order to the border. I released a comprehensive border security and immigration plan, because I know what our communities are going through and how to fix it.
“As Texas’ next U.S. Senator, I’m going to cut through the political nonsense and get the job done.”
Roland Gutierrez is an immigration lawyer from South Texas and has represented over 400 miles of the Texas-Mexico border in his State Senate district. Gutierrez is the only candidate in the race to release a five-point immigration plan that would address the heavy burden of Texas’ broken border.
A recent poll found that 92% of Democrats and 86% of Republicans support efforts to reform immigration and border policies.
